Independence, practical skills, and assurance for everyday life

A yearlong series of classes, reading, money, healthy snacking, community & home safety, and more. Social Showdowns held monthly—evenings spent refreshing all class skills, reading, math, following directions, taking turns and experiencing new board games.

A man with glasses smiling in a room with a table set with bowls of salad, fruit, and papers, wearing a blue apron with the text 'Champion Athletes of the Ozarks' and a name tag that says 'Tim'.
A woman with curly hair and a gray cardigan talking to a young man with glasses and a graphic t-shirt inside a room with a light green wall, black chairs, and tables with stacks of pamphlets.
A man is playing a word game with Scrabble tiles on a white table. The tiles spell out words like 'PURPLE,' 'SHORE,' and 'PUNCH.' There are also colored tabs with different categories on the table. In the background, there is a bulletin board with colorful paper illustrations of wrapped candies and handwritten notes.

What to Expect

Champion Athletes offers programs that focus on strength, balance, conditioning, social skills, and vocational skills—helping athletes succeed not just in sports, but as individuals. Our programs foster a sense of accomplishment by encouraging participants to take risks in a positive, supportive atmosphere.

The experiences gained through Champion Athletes help each athlete progress toward greater independence and everyday living. In daily life, all of us must adapt to change, interruptions, and unexpected challenges. Champion Athletes teaches each athlete to be flexible and cope with the stress that change can bring. Athletes learn to work with different authority figures, build on one another's successes, and demonstrate good sportsmanship. Our individuals benefit greatly from these programs across many areas of their lives—physically, socially, at home, at school, and at work.

To participate in a Champion Athletes program, athletes must be registered and have a current physical and athlete release on file with our office. Forms can be found below. Equipment is provided at all programs. Athletes should wear tennis shoes and sport-appropriate clothing.

Don’t forget to download your athlete’s forms, fill them out and return them to us ASAP!
